Getting started
What setting up Tend involves.
Setup is five steps. You can follow them yourself in the app, or our team can do them with you (see pricing for onboarding).
Before you start
Admin access to your business on Meta
Whoever connects the number needs to be an admin of your business's Facebook account. If that is not set up yet, our team can help you through it.
The WhatsApp Business number buyers already message
Buyers keep messaging the same number. If it is on the WhatsApp Business app today, it moves into Tend when you connect it, and your team answers those chats in Tend instead of the app.
Your listings
A CSV file of your listings is enough to start. You can also add them one by one in the app.

- Step 1
Connect your WhatsApp number
Open WhatsApp in the menu, click Connect WhatsApp and sign in with Meta to choose your number. The details can also be entered by hand under Advanced setup.

Add your listings
Under Properties, import a CSV file or add listings one by one. Tend answers buyers from these, so prices and availability should be current.

Add your FAQs
Under Knowledge, paste your common questions and answers, or the text of brochures and payment plans. Tend uses them to answer buyers.

Add a team member for handovers
Under Team, add at least one agent with an email address, so handovers and booking alerts reach someone.

In Workspace settings, under Sales Workflow, describe how the assistant should speak and set your business hours.

Choose how Tend replies
An admin chooses this in Workspace settings, under Sales Workflow, and can change it later.
AI Concierge: Tend answers buyers
Tend replies, asks your qualifying questions, suggests properties from your listings and books viewings. It hands over to an agent when a buyer asks for a person or when it cannot answer.
Human-first Lead Rescue: Tend greets, an agent answers
Tend acknowledges each new enquiry and passes it straight to an agent, who takes the conversation from there.
How long it takes
It depends mostly on how quickly Meta verifies your business and on the state of your listing data, so we agree a plan with you rather than promise a number of days.
